The Watergate Scandal

This is the first of my 17 definitions that I previously mentioned that I would define in my 'Hello and Welcome' opening post. On June 17th 1972, five men were arrested for breaking and entering into the Democratic National Committee HQ at the Watergate Complex (for you American readers, it's not actually a gate made of water as I am sure most of you thought). To sum events up, Nixon, president at the time, like a prison bitc*, was scared. He was worried that the Democratic party posed a serious threat to his Presidency, and so ordered wiretaps to be placed in their HQ. The first few attempts produced nothing of significant value and so another break-in was ordered to uncover more plans of the Democratic Party's election campaign and strategies. When all this came to light, Nixon faced being Impeached (will define later) and promptly resigned his post.
Now since blogs are all about comments and opinions, I shall give mine. If you are going to get kicked out or 'resign' from office, no matter how big or small the position, make it worthwhile. Don't act like a complete woman and get someone else to spy illegally because you are scared your opposition are stronger than you. Man up, dress up like a tree, get your binoculars out and do it yourself. If you can't, then you don't deserve to be President.
The British on the other hand know how to conduct a scandal. John Profumo, the man, the legend. What he did completely eclipses in terms of manliness what Nixon did. Fornicating with the mistress of a Russian spy, sounds like something out of a James Bond movie. The only thing that was needed was the euphemistic name of the girl, like Pussy Galore. He not only risked his career, but his life. Now that is a Scandal.
